Tierry Medeiros

Tierry has a degree in Biological Sciences (Marine Biology) from Santa Cecília University (Brazil). He also completed a Bachelor degree in Environmental Studies from the same University, and a Master of Science degree from the Federal University of São Paulo (Brazil), In this work, he studied the effects of the bioavailability of metals in acidified sediments by the infusion of CO2 by bivalves (Crassostrea gasar).

He is currently a Ph.D. student in Oceanography at the University of Concepción. His doctoral thesis, guided by Dr. Cristian Vargas, intends to incorporate in a novel way the effect of natural variability (mainly O2 and pH) associated with coastal upwelling processes in the Gulf of Arauco on the potential of local adaptation of the crustacean Taliepus dentatus, in different populations along a heterogeneous environmental gradient, such as the one observed on the coast of the Biobío Region, in Chile.
