International network for understanding the fenotypic plasticity of mussels upon Ocean Acidification scenarios (InpHOA). CONICTY REDES Nº180012. 2019 – 2020.

The InpHOA research network brings together four research groups working in different coastal regions of the East Pacific Ocean, Europe, and the Indo-Pacific region to conduct frontier research and understand the potential and limitations of plasticity across the traits of organisms under different ocean acidification scenarios, including the natural variability of different coastal regions.

This project aims to consolidate an international research team conducting time series analyzes of carbonate chemistry and ecologically relevant manipulation experiments to examine the responses of model marine species to changing ocean chemistry on a global scale.

To achieve this objective, exchange programs are being carried out between research centers in Chile, Sweden, Mexico and Hong Kong, in addition to workshops to analyze existing data, protocols for experiments with mollusks under ocean acidification scenarios, and perform identical experiments under low pH conditions.
